Since then, he started taking his health seriously. For the two months, his daily diet consisted of two protein cocktails and a light dinner. Then he changed to a strict diet of 2,000 calories a day. But as he loves the foods, he switched to diet 5:2, which is a form of intermittent fasting. Five days a week, he eats as he used to. For the remaining two days, the calories limited to 25% of the usual amount (in Kimmel case, this is around 500 calories). Without being limited in what he can eat most of the week, he has the pleasure of eating without feeling deprived.
Kimmel admits that this diet allowed him to stay healthy by 182 pounds – 28 pounds less than his highest weight. He also reveals that following this strict diet taught him to appreciate good food.

Is the 5:2 diet good for your health?
Although this diet is suitable for Kimmel, many nutritionists say that you should stay away from any intermittent fasting, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, have a weak immune system, or have previously struggled with eating disorders.
How to make the 5:2 diet more efficient?
No one is forcing you to go into the gym and lift 100 kg weight bars, but at least minimal physical activity is necessary if you want to lose weight. Apart from weight loss, this will have a positive effect on your overall health.
At least 20-30 minutes a day should be devoted to movement. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a morning exercise or an evening walk in the fresh air.
